James Van Scotter
(left) worked for
Dykstra
Laboratories, Inc.
while a student at the
University of Florida.
He recently
completed his M.B.A.

working for Dykstra

had a successful
military career and
calibrated missiles as
part of his job.
Since leaving Dykstra Laboratories, Inc., Bryon
Gyllstrom worked at Regeneration Technologies in
Alachua for one year, then moved to New Hampshire to
escape the hot summers. In his words, "I have failed
miserably, as my law school education has included a six-
week stay in Beijing (China) and then a summer
internship in Washington DC at the United States Patent
and Trademark Office (USPTO)." Bryon is currently
living and working in Boston and will soon graduate from
the Franklin Pierce Law Center and go into patent law
practice.
Roger A. Haring (not pictured) worked as a Laboratory
Technican for one year (1999-2000) during the initial
development of Dykstra Laboratories, Inc. During this
time period of the laboratory, Roger recalls many diverse
and interesting experiences as Dr. Dykstra struggled to get
these insects "under control." The most memorable
moments in the lab included: 1) Rearing Mass Quantities
of Indian Meal Moths and subsequently freezing them, 2)
Learning the different sex characteristics of Plodia sp., 3.)
Listening to Dr. Dykstra's music collection which included a
daily dose of John Denver’s Greatest Hits to the Sound of
Music Soundtrack…4.) Attempting to beat Tom in Chess
matches that started after 10pm in the Lab, 5.) Helping
construct, sand, vaccuum, and paint any new type of wood
product Dr. Dykstra elected to create, 6.) Reading a book
on the Jesuits, and 7.) Visiting with Dr. Phil Callahan and
listening to the Acres USA lectures tapes…while
occasionally enjoying a nice lunch of a Subway sandwich!

Lyndall Brezina worked for Dykstra
Laboratories, Inc. from March
2008-July 2009.
